Acerca de Matthew
I’m from Australia and recently finished a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Marketing from the University of Melbourne. I also spent my final semester studying abroad in Madrid at IE University. I'm passionate about travel, with some of my favourite countries being Colombia, Jordan, and Bosnia. I speak French and am currently learning Spanish, and I love sharing the joy of language learning—especially the ability to express yourself in a new language.
I’m also an outdoor enthusiast. Whether it’s skiing, kayaking, or exploring new places, I love being active outdoors. And, of course, I’m a big fan of coffee!

As a tutor, I prioritise a collaborative and open approach to learning where students feel safe to make mistakes which is the best way to learn!
I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and asking questions. My teaching style is flexible and adaptive, focusing on the unique needs of each student. I aim to build both confidence and competence by using a variety of engaging activities.
A typical class might include a conversational warm-up, where we discuss topics the student is interested in or wishes to practice. This not only helps build fluency but also creates a relaxed atmosphere for learning. We may also work on reading comprehension exercises, analysing texts that align with the student’s interests or goals. In addition, I incorporate writing practice, such as composing diary entries or other written forms, allowing students to apply grammar and vocabulary in a meaningful context.
Ultimately, my goal is to make each lesson feel relevant and engaging, ensuring that students feel motivated and prepared to progress at their own pace.
