Acerca de Rebecca
I'm Rebecca – A Native British English Tutor for Adults. I’m originally from the southwest of England and now live over here in lovely sunny Spain. I have a relaxed, friendly approach to teaching and am passionate about helping people from all over the world improve their English skills. Outside of teaching, I’m an animal lover (I recently adopted two kittens) and animals have always been a big part of my life. I enjoy dining out with friends, growing my own food, cooking (especially vegetarian meals, though I'm not completely vegetarian!), and listening to music. I also have a love for astrology and thrillers (the scarier, the better!). I have a bit of an adventurous spirit, having abseiled off the side of cliffs, jumped off waterfalls, and also dived in the Red Sea to gain my PADI Advanced Open Water qualification, I've also done the longest and highest zipline in Europe. Background & Experience: Before moving to Spain, I worked in sales and remarketing in the UK for 15 years, which included helping to train colleagues to improve communication techniques and exceed their targets. I also have management experience, having worked as a Centre Specialist for a major motoring organization. With a TEFL/TESOL Advanced 120-Hour qualification and around 4 years of online teaching experience, I've had the pleasure of tutoring students from countries like Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Estonia, China, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, Vietnam, South Korea, India, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and The Netherlands. It's fascinating to meet people from such diverse cultures and backgrounds. My aim is to help you improve all aspects of your English, including vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar, and I work with adult learners from B1 (intermediate) to C2 (advanced) level. I believe in a flexible, lesson-by-lesson approach and my lessons are always engaging and varied – using quizzes, exercises, articles, and discussions on topics that interest you. Learning about idioms, collocations, slang, and phrasal verbs are also essential to sounding more natural in everyday conversation. We'll even explore some of the more bizarre British words like "gobbledegook" and "codswallop" (yes they really exist!). If you’ve written something, for example a business presentation, or coursework/exam piece, I'm very happy to take a look and together we'll improve it by correcting grammar and structure, no matter how long or short it is! As your tutor I can help you build confidence, overcome shyness, and embrace making mistakes – because mistakes are part of the learning process, and can actually be a great way to learn. Learning a new language can open up some amazing new opportunities in your life, and I’m here to help you achieve your goals and reach your full potential. Availability: I teach between the hours of 7 am to 1 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 7 am to 12 pm on Sunday.
